My work lately as a Director for Accounting for Good CIC has included planning our celebration for the 5th year Anniversary on 12th July for Accounting for Good.
Achievements for the business to date include growing the Client base to 160 accountancy and business start-up clients that are predominately Social Enterprise and CIC based, across England, Scotland and Wales; launching Business for Good NE CIC services and expanding the business premises to include more face-to-face training / coaching support. Huge congratulations to Founding Director Kay Wightman, victoria ford, Pauline Barclay, Kathryn Wightman, Brendan Roberts, and Colin Waters – a Team I am proud to be a part of ❤️
We were also very pleased about our success for grant funding from The National Lottery Community Fund for receipt of money that will be used for developing and running a course supporting people with long-term health conditions and disabilities to set-up and run their own business, in the Gateshead and Newcastle regions.
Here is a great visual of a delighted Kay and Colin proudly holding symbolically the cheque received.
With a mix of training, peer support, and one-to-one business and personal coaching designed to provide a pathway to independence, we work with individuals, educating and reducing the barriers into employment or self-employment they may have. This enables our clients to fulfil their aspirations and achieve social and economic inclusion and we take the worry out of the how to’s when setting up a business and management of its accounts.
More HEART CENTRED work for me being involved with this team with purpose in both businesses being to enable individuals to provide financially for themselves, which of course influences their lifestyle and wellbeing.
We are passionate about being able to break down barriers for our local people, getting them into self-employment and / or employment where significant disabilities, both seen and unseen, may make it either not possible or desirable.
We believe this course is a fantastic step to support individuals toward independence.
